About Us

Caroline, Wendy and Mandy at Omagh show some years ago!We are sisters, Wendy Fleming and Caroline Reynolds and each have a separate interest in the Glenariff Affix.

Glenariff, meaning arable Glen is one of the Glens of Antrim in Northern Ireland were we both grew up and live and have enjoyed for many years. All our dogs have run in the woods surrounding the glen and have played in the clear waters of the streams there.

There has always been dogs in the family and we have be involved with breeding and showing as long as we can remember. As kids we grew up with Standard Smooth Dachshunds, shown under our mother's affix Craigmore.

Georgia, Clumber Spaniel, winning the Gundog Group at Tralee 2002Caroline met Clumber Spaniels for the first time on a visit to Crufts in 1989. That was the start and Caroline currently shares her home with Emily, still our live wire at 11 years old. She is the dam of our first Clumber litter and Georgia our special homebred girl. Our latest addition is Romeo, an exhuberant young puppy dog, born December 2004. He is great grandson of our Elliott, who we sadly said goodbye to in 2004, aged 12½ years.

We have had a lot of fun and success with our dogs we are particularly proud of Elliott winning Best of Breed at Crufts 2000 from the veteran class, and Georgia being the first Clumber Spaniel bitch to win a Group at a championship show in Ireland and Holland.

For Wendy, a move out of Belfast to the countryside in 1996 was the opportunity to have a dog. Lily our first pointer joined the household as a rescue of just 7 months old. Used to an outside kennel life she soon settled in and is happy stretched out in front of the fire. December 2003, Heather arrived to join the Glenariff team and keep Lily company on the sofa!

Our Mini Smooths, Lulu and EvaOur most recent additions to the show team are the miniature Smooth Dachsunds. Our mum, Sandra, has had this breed for several years and decided to join us showing when looking for a suitable sire for Dilly's litter which was born December 2002.

From this litter of 5 we could not resist keeeping both Lulu a shaded red and Eva a black and tan. Our Cheeky girls!
